Welcome to Ashanti Region, home of pure gold, rich cultural heritage and Ghana’s business hub.

The Ashanti Region of Ghana contains the 30 districts. This is made up of one Metropolitan, seven Municipal and 22 Ordinary districts. The region has one of the lowest open defecation rates in the country (6.6% based on 2014 records from the Ghana Statistical Service). It is the last to start implementing the CLTS approach in 2017. However, there is currently no available record on ODF districts or communities. It is believed that World Vision International is among the few partners implementing CLTS in the Ashanti Region. Data on the region’s ODF situation, it is believed, will be available in December 2018.
